Dear Helen,

It has been quite some time since I have heard from you, and I am beginning to wonder if maybe something has gone wrong. I think that the last letter I got from you was about two months ago, and when I got that you said you would write again soon, but as of yet, I haven’t heard nothing. Maybe, you think that you are wasting your time when you write to me, but I do hope that isn’t. So, you are the one person that I hope will still be there when I get back the same as I left you. I really do think a lot of you and I hope that you feel the same about me.

Well, the day for which we have all been hoping and praying for his finally come, thank God! The war is over, and now we can look forward to what we all hope will be a life, that will make us feel proud to have been able to fight for it. I only hope and pray that when we get back there that we will not be disappointed, but time alone will tell that. When I will be getting out of this, I don't know, but something’s should happen in a few months.

Yesterday I went to the dentist and had one tooth filled in one pool. It didn’t feel too good at that time but it’s OK now and I’m glad it’s out. How are your teeth coming along, do they still bother you? I got a letter from my brother, and he told me that he had been up to your place a couple of weeks ago, and that he saw you. He seems to think you are OK and he isn’t the only one.

I had a few snapshots taken a few weeks ago. They didn’t turn out too good but I am sending you one just to let you know that I am still almost the same as I was then. I’m trying to get some large pictures made and I’ll send you one as soon as I get them. Well, I will have to closer now hoping this letter finds you in the best of health and then I hear from you soon. Be good if you can’t do that be careful.

All my love

Joe
